This roundtable event is essentially a new platform for business leaders to network, discuss impact and strategies for participation among stakeholders and maximizing opportunities in the soon-to-be-operational African Continental Free Trade Area.

It is a unique opportunity for business executives to share ideas, network and learn about the latest trends shaping international trade in Nigeria, with particular respect to the business sector in which they operate.

The theme for this series is “Repositioning Nigerian Businesses for the AfCFTA era: Business Strategies and Support Services”.

In a nutshell, participants – who are expected to be CEOs, industry leaders and business executives (decision makers) from the private sector – are expected to come away from these eventswith the knowledge that there are pathways to succeeding in the AfCFTA era (Strategies), and there is help when you need it (Support Services) – from domain experts, relevant government agencies and Institutions

ABOUT AFCFTA

The African Continental Free Trade Area came into effect in July 7, 2019 with the launching ceremony held in Niamey, Niger. At the same event, Nigeria being the 53rd country to sign the agreement and at the time of writing, all 55 countries in Africa had either signed or ratified the agreement. AfCFTA is projected to boost the continent’s trading power with international trade partners, boost Intra-Africa trade with the attendant effect of creating jobs, increasing wealth and prosperity.

From the perspective of businesses, it is imperative that businesses develop strategies on how to engage international trade partners within the context of this agreement, and/or take advantage of the new agreement. 

About the CEOs Roundtable series

This one-day event is expected to hold in five locations – covering the different Geo-political regions – across the country between 26th March, and 25th June, 2020 as follows: 

  •     Port Harcourt (26th March) 
  •     Enugu (23rd April) 
  •     Lagos, (7th May) 
  •     Kano (28th May) 
  •     Abuja (25th June)
